The United States on Wednesday refused to comment on a court action against Sharif brothers and the imposition of governor’s rule in Punjab, saying that it was Pakistan’s internal matter.
Asked if he was concerned about these new developments in Pakistan, State Department’s deputy spokesman Robert Wood said: ‘Obviously we're concerned about any violence that takes place anywhere around the world.’
But the situation in Punjab ‘seems to me it's something that the Pakistani government will need to handle, but I don't have any further comment on it,’ he added.
