Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.W) being celebrated today



Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.W) is being celebrated across the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) with religious fervour today (Tuesday) while the day has been declared as a public holiday. Different local, religious and social organizations have organized different programmes to celebrate this event. On this occasion Naat and Quran reciting competitions will also take place, different rallies and gathering will also appear in different parts of the country. The Ministry of Religious Affairs organized a one-day National Seerat Conference on the auspicious event in the Federal Capital, which would be chaired by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. Prominent Ulema and scholars from across the country would attend the conference and also present their articles and thoughts on the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W). Special Seerat Banners and illuminations on public buildings throughout the country would be arranged. Security would remain on high alert with enhanced police patrolling as well as elaborate security measures at all sensitive places to avoid any untoward incident on the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.W). Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, urging the public to stand united ageist extremism said, it was against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) spirit of teachings if any one sought to monopolize his teachings or forced any exclusive interpretation of it on others. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in their separate messages, on the auspicious day of the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), extended their greetings to every one particularly to the Muslims throughout the world and in Pakistan. "I also pray that Allah guide us on the path illumined by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) with his example and give us the wisdom and the strength to follow his teachings and rekindle our souls with the light lit by him", President said in his message. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) brought a message of peace, love a compassion and humility and preached tolerance and understanding -virtues that we all need to imbibe today more that ever before, he added. The prophet (PBUH) was the benefactor of entire universe, the President said that it was against the spirit of his teachings if any one sought to monopolize his teachings or forced any exclusive interpretation of it on others. He said that Muhammad (PBUH) was sent by Allah to the entire mankind and that was why homage is paid to him everywhere and at all times. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in his separate message on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi has underscored the need of unity among the nation saying we can defeat extremism and terrorism through unity. "On this day Allah Almighty sent Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to this world as Rehmatul Lil Alameen (Blessing for all the worlds). I express my heartiest felicitations to all of my Muslim brothers, sisters, elderly and children on this festive eve", he said. "The entire life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is an open book before us. He (PBUH) can be regarded as a model human being in every aspect. The greatness of a human, sanctity of human blood, brotherhood among the people and the welfare of humanity if the basic teachings of Quranic teachings", he said. The objective of these teachings is to develop among the human beings the great values based on fraternity, sense of sacrifice for each other, mutual affinity and respect to strengthen peace co-existence, he said, adding that, the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the practical depiction of the same teachings. Today’s world is facing various issues and we can find the solution to our problems in light of Quranic teachings and Seerat un Nabi Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Seerat provides eternal guidance on worldly issues may it individual and collective aspect of the life, Gilani said. The need is to take guidance from it and present the Islam before the world in its true spirit, he said. "We need to prove from our words and deeds that Islam is a religion of peaceful co-existence. Its golden principals have great ability to provide basic outline in solving worldly affairs and creating a peaceful exemplary society", he said. "I pray that may Allah Almighty guide every Muslim to understand the essence of Quranic message and follow the Sunnat of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)", he said.Keeping in view the current situation in the Federal Capital, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar, the security has been put on high alert to avoid any untoward incident and the attendant of Mehafils will be properly verified and checked through security personnel’s.
